Maison P. Ferraud & Fils is first and foremost a story of five generations following in each other’s footsteps over the centuries generations.The « Beaujolais Villages» denomination covers a surface of 6,000 hectares mainly on the southern hillsides of the Beaujolais region. When it was created in April 1950, the A.O.P. Beaujolais-Villages was the first French appellation to use the term 'villages'. This name is now used by many wineries. Since the last century, most of the « Merrains » has come from the family estate in Vaux en Beaujolais (also known as Clochemerle).
Tasting Notes
This wine looks intense and shiny with cherry or garnet-red glints and a deep colour. On the nose, this wine has red fruits scents. On the palate, it is an elegant wine with subtle but powerful tannins. Harmonious and sweet, it expresses the richness of the soil.Our Beaujolais Villages "Les Merrains" pairs perfectly with cured meat and poultry.
